I am 31 weeks pregnant and when I stand up from getting out of the car etc. I get a rush of fluid like I am slightly wetting myself is this normal? But other than that no fluid any other time. This happens even with an empty bladder!

I would call your Midwife or Doctor and explain to them what is happening..

It may just be discharge, which is completely normal for your stage of pregnancy, or it could be something more serious like you are leaking Amniotic Fluid.

Better to be on the safe side and get it checked ASAP

I (and my 4 preg friends) leaked a bit towards the end. Not something people often talk about actually. It didn't seem to smell like wee, so maybe it was leaky amniotic fluid. You can get very small rupture in the membrane which are kind of dammed by the babys head pressing down on it.
Didn't seem to cause any of us any problems. When your waters break, believe me, you will know! If you're worried, see your midwife.

Most likely it is baby pushing excess from your bladder. HOWEVER: Do not hesitate to see your doc right away. I had this problem in wk. 35 myself. I called my doc. and was told it was probably urine. It got worse every time I got up. I went to hosp. and they told me their test strips showed it to be urine. BUT, 5 days after this I went into preterm labor w/a fever of 102, and had my baby. Turns out I had bad infection in my amniotic sac!! Go figure!! I know it was from leaking water as that is the #1 cause of amniotic infection. My doc never would admit that my water was probably leaking before; I guess because they brushed me off when I called to complain about it, but I knew something was up!! So ALWAYS call or go in & be checked out. Don't let em brush you off over the phone!! Good luck

This question makes me think that you have a aminic (misspelled sorry) leak. I feel that you should be calling your doc aobut this ASAP. If that is what is wrong it could be harmful to the baby.

There is not much more that i can help with on it. I have 4 kids and I never had this happen to me but I have heard about it. Please call Doc

Good Luck

Yes, it's probably normal and nothing to worry about. You have alot of weight/pressure on your bladder right now.

You might be losing amniotic fluid. Go see your OBGYN right away. Better safe then sorry.
