Does the world hate the USA or their government?
The USA has produced some very very fine music (blues, jazz, soul, rock, and indeed classical), political activists (Martin Luther KIng, Abbie Hoffman etc), writers, comedians (Bill HIcks etc), scientists, not many artists, Marvel comics, films and musicals (they did not produce Andrew Lloyd Webber...), poets (Gary Snyder for one), journalists (Studs Terkel for example), magazines (Harpers has some great writing and vital information - no NOT Harpers Bazaar), even some decent food (NOT MacDonalds etc). And when an American is educated, boy are they well-educated. It also looks to be a very beautiful country. And they run the space programme which I think is one of the most hopeful things ever.
It also has a lot of very dodgy things wrong with it which includes their government and their pushing of globalisation etc.
The USA does not, despite a number of posts on here, hold the franchise on 'freedom'. I hadn't actually noticed that we in Europe are seriously oppressed and we do have free education, free healthcare and the right to vote, to hold public meetings, speak freely and run campaigns etc. Just about anyone can hold a passport as well. I don't care if we have to pay more for petrol - that is not a bad thing. Plus their spelling...(couldn't resist!)
Not that I've been to the States, it sounds too much of a hassle to get in and I don't care for standing in long queues just for the pleasure of going abroad. Nor do I really care for flying which is the only practical way to get there.

I am not an American, and I don't know ,where is Montana, but I would be very resentful if you call me ignorant, If I am not mistaken your country too has received a lot of help from those ignorant Americans, as many poor nations have, and are receiving American help today. I have been in America a few times, and nowhere in the world people are so ease going, frendly, and ready to help if in need. There is not a better environement for a human being to grow and prosper happily than in liberty, that is why America is so powerful, as to any other type of government, the exact opposite happen, look yourself around, wash your mouth with Italian vinegar, and thank them for what are they capable of doing, and what they have achieved in the past. As to the people that hate them, why don't you ask them why, and 90% of them will not be able to tell you a plausible reason, exactly like you, unless the reason mighty be of religeous nature, in that case you should reread your sermons.

For someone to know something about another country or nation means that other nation has some sort of influence in the world. Kenya? You tell me what influence it has over the world? This isn't ignorance or stupidity...what reason is there for me to know where kenya is or what kenya is? It's in Africa...so? What is bad about USA? Economic power...miltary power, national stability....what is bad huh? You think Kenya could survive without the USA? Think again, that AIDS overflowing country wouldn't be able to do anything without the US backing the UN in Humanitarian causes...so before you bad mouth anyone here or this country maybe you should do some freaking information hunting on your own stupid!

Why is the word "freedom" used all the time like we don't have that anywhere else. We have this "freedom" in the UK too, no different to what you have, in fact I think we're too liberal in this country, poeple get away with murder!
Do they still think we are all medieval serfs or something?? Our lives are no different to theirs.
As for "The UK has taxes for things" - my God so do you! Are you trying to tell me you don't pay any tax????? If you think the piddling little TV license we have to pay over here is "oppression" you are seriously misinformed and I have NEVER heard of a "tax for screen doors" in this country???
And as for "melting pot" Britain is about as multicultural as it gets these days also (perhaps too much so in some people's opnion).
What bunkum. Shows America's view of the world is still based on how things were in about 1700. I guess its because if they stop bleating about "but we have freedom" they become just another unimportant country and lose the deeply ingrained superiority complex.
Oh by the way we provide free education too (better than the American system which I'm constantly being told is poor). And we get free HEALTHCARE too (a basic human right) which is more than you "poor oppressed" Americans get!

This question is some bull ****...First and fore most the many countries or people that hate America really hate globalism and materialism. With that being said they only really focus their hate on the US because it is the most looked at country and involved in world affairs. So people tend to focus on the bad then the good. With out the United States the world wouldn't be any better as for any 3rd world country would gladly take its place as a global super power.

I love America. I can't stand this America bashing all the time. America is beautiful, a lovely country. I'd love to live there. They speak English, have a democracy and have excellent weather. Sorry, but the rest of the world is jealous. Americans don't need anyone else. They could just ignore us all and get by very well on their own. And if they banned all Muslims, well, they wouldn't need to get involved with Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran et al.

Incorrect.
The world does not hate America, so much as it is jealous.
We have the highest standard of living in the world; naturally, those who live in places where they can't vote, can't go to college over the age of 25, can't own a gun, can't look forward to owning a house, can't be female and drive at the same time or drink the water without contracting dysentery feel envious.
I'll agree, some of us can't find Canada on a map, much less Kenya, but don't make the mistake of thinking that everyone here is that uninformed.
Why don't you immigrate...? You might like it here!

Whats so good about America? How about tha feact you are free. I mean really free, you can talk how you want, if you are offended, you can yell back. Other countries still live in oppression. The UK has taxes for things such as tvs and screen doors, we dont. We are the melting pot of the world, just walk outside and talk with some one from another country or diversity. If you did that in some countries, you would get hurt, even killed.
