Because nobody likes a loser... in this case two losers.
And the democrats won't likely have a candidate ready for 2008. So unless something totally amazing happens it'll be McCain in 2008.

Let's, for the moment, forget that Al Gore WAS the President of the United States from 2000 to 20004...
(...are the NeoCons choking on their own bile yet?)
Personally, I'd be very pleased if Gore chose to run again. He has all the qualities that Bush lacks...and those are MANY. If he runs, he'll win. If it doesn't win...well let's all gather together and count those dangling chads again, shall we?
John Kerry has been a personal hero of mine since I first saw him testifying in front of Congress in '72. I'd waited thirty years for the honor to vote for him. I desperately wanted him to win...and the sickening deterioration of this country in the months since his defeat has met my worst expectations.
But Kerry should have come out swinging - he should NOT have retreated after the election, his leadership was urgently needed by Democrats, by Americans...and he failed to fulfill that leadership role. Disappointing.
So...we'll see what happens. If another Republican takes the Presidency, the world may pay a terrible, terrible price.
If JEB takes the Presidency...
...well...
UP THE REVOLUTION!

Being a republican I sure hope so. Those two wouldnt have a chance at winning. I agree its about time Bush went though. I think John McCain of Arizona would be a good president. Pretty much I dont care what happens as long as A:Bush is gone B:its not Hillary Clinton or Barrack O'Bama. This country needs a lot of changes, I just dont feel Gore/Kerry are the men to do it.

The only Democrat I would consider voting is Ed Rendell - Governor of Pennsylvania. None else.
The rest of Democrats are mostly NUTS.

No.
You make some good points, but many Democrats like myself want fresh blood to run.
We saw that with Lieberman...

Why ???
Jeb Bush will be President. The RNC has already chosen him as rightful successor to the throne.
