I had to look up the definition for avant garde first, now that I know it, that's the perfect name for a record label especially if you want to push the limits of the current industry as you state. Good Luck!

Sounds gay...too many syllables. While the music itself might be intelligent, you should think about being able to market it to the most people possible. Something hard to say and spell for the majority isn't user friendly, and probably doesn't help in terms of selling.

i think if you come up w/ something like an acronym or something more simplistic (I'm assuming the average person doesn't know what avant garde is) you will be more successful.

Try using the acronyms like H.A.G. Recording/Records or something like that, just a thought….

It is original but it may not fly well with many people. However you shouldn't change it. I bet I would like it if I could pronounce it.
