Go the first four years. Then get hired as a paralegal while you attend the last four years of school. You'll make enough money to pay for your degree and the nice clothes.

I don't know who told you it was 8 years but my fiance is in law school now and it will only take three years (after a 4-year undergraduate college). You might be thinking about ph.d or being a doctor which is around 6-7 (after a 4-year undergraduate college) years (which I am doing). So even though I started professional school before my fiance, he'll get out first! Think about it though--you invest just a few years and your earning potential goes way up!

You could easily cut it down to 6 yrs... Just look for joint programs and accelerated programs offered by certain colleges together with a graduate law school. Much cheaper, quicker, and convenient if you want to start working right after school. Plus you still get to be a lawyer.
