I am 22 years old and adopted. My mother is my biological mom but my father I never met. His name is on my birth cert. I just googled his name and he is a Prince. (was a prince in 1984) Does that mean I am royalty? I called my mother and she confirmed it. We had never spoken of this but I'm old enough to know. What should I do?

If your father was a Prince and he and your mother were not married, you can't be a princess. Sorry about that, but the rules are very strict on that point. Just be consoled by the fact that you are not alone. Royal males seem carelessly promiscuous and left many, many children who were born on the wrong side of the blanket.
Still, that doesn't prevent you from buying yourself a tiara and wearing it whenever you please.
Have a good day, your highness!

The title of Princess is one that is bestowed upon a person, not one that is causually inherited by any/all offspring of a titled royal. Charlotte Casiraghi (daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco) is not a princess (her parents chose not to bestow that title upon her) but her Mom is a princess, her uncle is the ruler of Monace, and her grandmother was Grace Kelly! You might be the daughter of a Prince, but sadly, that does not make you a princess to anyone but the ones who love you....

However, that is pretty spiffy that you are related to royalty....out of curiosity is it European royalty, Middle Eastern royalty, or Asian royalty? The country will make a bit of difference in how the title of Prince/Princess is respected...

No unfortunately, you wouldn't, because you are not a product of the prince and his LEGAL wife (the princess) you couldn't be. Sorry. It's like if Prince William had a child illegitimately that child would never be recognized by the Monarch.

You are the illegitimate daughter of a prince which doesn't entitle you to anything royal. You have to be officially recognized and adopted by him and accepted by his parents to gain a title.Case in point:HSH Prince Albert of Monaco has two illegitimate children;they do not have titles and are not in line to the throne. They would have to be adopted by Albert and this be accepted by HRH Princess Caroline in order to join the line of succession.

If you were a princess, wouldn't you already know. People would contact your Mom by now if you really mattered in royalty. Come on this is not The Princess Diaries.

It could just be a coincidence... I mean, there is a possibility that your father IS royalty, but a lot of people share their names... I for one know that I am - according to google - a marine biologist, an elementary school teacher, and a female surfer.

If your parents were unmarried then you will not be entitled to a title or any royal privileges. Prince Albert of Monaco has a child out of wedlock who does not have a title.

it depends how big the check was. what did he say in the letter?! not that being a princess is that big a deal, these days, except to little girls (and the little girls that live on in big girls' heads)... unless those checks keep coming, and they're BIG. still, i feel you; i wouldn't mind being a prince palatine, but, y'know, we're (well, those of european descent, anyhow) all descended from charlemagne, anyway (look it up - really!)
