The tax cuts have resulted in higher taxes being paid in, as the profit went up. Personally, I agree there should be a tax penalty for outsourcing. An International Payroll Tax for example. However, relieving the tax burden on smaller companies that would have had to have lay offs (especially now due to gas prices) is economically smart.

I don't see that there is any reason to offer tax-breaks. I've seen a lot of companies come and go in this state because of outsourcing. Once the jobs go to another country, the big corporation can then downscale to a small office building. It's getting costly for those trying to live in the U.S.

In a word: corruption, and the current system for financing political campaigns.

"Tax breaks" encompasses a lot of things: investment tax credit (not given for outsourcing, at least not for factory construction in China, except by the Chinese authorities); state and county tax forgiveness for bringing jobs to a community, even if those jobs involve distributing foreign-made goods; and -- most importantly -- agricultural and tax subsidies for crops that could not otherwise be profitably grown in the USA and which, like cotton, sugar and corn put farmers out of work in Africa and Mexico.

It's all part of Globalization.

yeah.,.. I'm not much for corporate welfare of any kind...

perhaps some to struggling start ups, but why give oil companies making more profit than anyone ever a tax break and gov. grants on top of that? I think they have more than enough money... we have other places that would be better served for those funds...

The GOP lies about the Democrats by blaming them for their own malfeasance. They claim that the Democrats are for big government, big spending, and big new taxes. Last year with the tax break for every $550,000 we gave them we got one job. Trickle down economics is not working for the people but is working with multinational corporations as we hear on the TV every week with their record profits.

It's not very clear what your question is. It is equally unclear what tax breaks you are referring to. Perhaps you could clarify with some details, and I will edit my answer accordingly.
