Think up some reasonable arguments for your case (like most of your friends have pierced ears, can it is really cheap) and then pester her with those arguments until she agrees. This tactic really works, I got my Mum to buy a car using them. I am 15.

Well it is your moms decision to let you get them peirced or not. I am also 13 and i have two holes in both ears and my mom loves them. Maybe thats all you should ask for for your next b-day, or take her to the mall and into a jewlery store and show her all the beautiful earings and say well if i had my ears peirced then I could where them to so-and-so's party. Or maybe try sitting down with your mom privately and talk to her about how you think she is being over protective. And how you really want them peirced. Make a commitment! Say if I can get my ears peirced I will clean my room totaly twice a week or whatever!
But dont use the phrase..."but everyone else has them!"
It never works..
Good Luck!

Some people due to their culture and just their beliefs allow their kids to get their ears pierced earlier. It is something you have to live with, I'm afraid. If you wait until your mom allows you to do it not only will you be happy that you have finally been allowed to have pierced ears, but your mom will see how mature you have become in the wait. The maturity you show will really help you when you get older and want other things like dating, cell phones and driver's license. So my suggestion wait. I had a really old-fashioned mom too, and you know what? I got my ears pierced when I was 14. So I know you won't have to wait too long. Prayers =)

And she may well be determined that you don't get them done.

You have a desire for social acceptance.

She has years of protecting you from injuring yourself and a far better
ability to predict the future than you do (hey, its true. That's why she is
the parent and you are the kid).

Ask her why she doesn't want you to have them pierced and when it
would be acceptable for you to have them pierced. If she says that
you aren't old enough, ask her what SPECIFICALLY she is waiting for.
That is, if she is waiting 'till your older, will 14 be OK, or how about 40?

You may not be able to get her to just say "yes", but at least you'll know
what you are up against.

In the meanwhile - if you are 13, yes, in all probability she has better
judgement than you do. Really!

well my mother said i can too and im 13 too. but im a little nervous, well, here is a little advice, dont say stuff like the other girls at my school have pierced ears and they have better earrings. just be a good sport. then when you are alone with your mom just tell how you feel and that it will at least make you look a little more older. if it doesnt work, than go ask your dad at least

DONT DO IT YOURSELF. here we get them done as little kids. dont take the risk of doin it urself.. u havnt done it before u could mess it up. let a professional do it. tel ur mom in asia 4 yr olds get it done! and ask her why u cant get it done? its not a distraction etc.! talk to her calmly.. reason out like an adult. if u turn up in front of her wid ears u urself pierced shes gonna be mad and label u a brat.. and the next time u want sumthing.. ur done

tell her you decided against the ears and want your b-button done instead...then ears wont seem so bad.

in discussion explain piercings can be removed...not like it's forever if you choose to take them out.

maybe explore w/ her WHY she thinks you shouldnt have it done. maybe she's concerned about responsibility. I did it for a girl i was caring for and she took the things out! I was soooo frustrated she had ruined her gift from me in like less than a day. infections can happen too. maybe try discussing it with her to see her point of view. then maybe she'll take the time to hear yours.

What are her arguements against it? Is it because she thinks you are too young? When would you not be too young? Try for a 14th birthday present and until then see if she will let you wear clip on's.
If her arguement is that she thinks they are in poor taste, try pointing out some conservative ones, and promise to only wear Mom approved earrings.
We need more details.

Five years is a very short time to wait. In the meantime just respect that your mother is making decisions based on her beliefs and experience. If your mind is set just keep pushing her to step past her comfort zone. I would say as long as you have built respect and trust with your mother on past activities and opportunities she will listen. Dont whine be an adult but also be willing to listen.

She may as well just give in. You're 13 and she won't let you? That's beyond old fashioned. I'm sixteen years OLDER than you and I've had my ears pierced since I was a child. What century is she living in? Is she a mormon?

Tell her that is she doesn't let you have it done professionally, you'll do it yourself with a safety pin. LOL
