Israel was formed by the United Nations. A proposed Palestinian state was rejected by the Palestinians, who were not willing to agree to a two state solution.

Your statement is a fairy tale.
Research a little before posting. There where Jews and Arabs in what is today Israel well before 1948. Arabs have been attacking Jews in the region since at least the late 19th century.
Hagana was formed as a result of the 1921 Arab attacks against Jews, they where a defensive group.
You might also note that millions of Jews where expelled from surrounding Arab countries after 1948, when they,(Arab nations),decided to invade Israel, and migrated into Israel.
Here are some actual facts according to Wilkepedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestine
In 1916, the British, after ending Ottoman rule, declared the British Mandate of Palestine, which would have made a Palestinian state, that actually was largely located in Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia, (why no outrage over them "stealing" the Palestinians land)? In 1917 however, the British countered that mandate with the Balfour Declaration, laying plans for a Jewish homeland, further angering the Arab hornets nest.
It is a blatant misrepresentation to state that Jews just showed up in 1948 & pushed the peacful Palestinians out of their happy place.

For the same reason the Arabs pushed all the Jews living in their countries out of their land.
Yes, it was wrong. Both of these were wrong.
But it is too late to rectify. You cannot go back and undo it. You cannot go back to the way it was.
Israel isn't going anywhere. Israel is here to stay, and will fight to the death to continue to exist. They will never allow the Palestinians the right to return. So, isn't it time for the Palestinians to get over their useless anger and create a future (without bomb vests or AK-47s) for their children?
At what point should a person let go of their hate? Did it help them to pass it on to their children? Has it helped them to blow up Israeli children? At what point do we recognize this continued hatred as the mental insanity it really is?

well 1st I question your objectivity ,but that a sides the point .
The Jews have been promised a homeland since the league if nation days ,2nd This goes further back than 48 , 48 is when Israel declared statehood , Israel/ Palestine are not the only nations to have a dispute over statehood name and title India /Pakistan was also a major flash point in that year instead of Muslim/ Jews it was Hindu/Sikh/ Muslim.
After WWI the repartitioning of the whole middle east has gone bad so to say its a Arab/ Jew problem isn't entirely correct .

It was Stern, not Shtern.
The Arabs perpetrated major riots against the Jews, who, by the way, had legally immigrated to Palestine, in the 1920's and 1930's. These riots were fomented by the various effendi families, as well as the Mufti of Jerusalem, who was a good friend of Adolf Hitler.
The biggest mistake of the Arab leadership in the 20th century was not embracing the Jews who came to Israel and turned a wasteland into a garden. I feel sorry for the Arabs - after 100 years of strife, they still are doing the same stupid things. What a pathetic, backward people.

THEY DIDN'T SWEET HEART! Get the "The 50 Year War" DVD set from PBS. It is a non biased historical document of what happened there. They bought that land. Arafat got over 50 million dollars for that land and kept the money and starved the people of Palestine and paid citizens money for their children to strap a bomb to their chest and to go kill civilians in Israel! Truly the devils work. You deserve the TRUTH! and it is available to you... GODSPEED!

Because like Americans view of the native Americans, they saw the people there before them as less than human and wanted their land. Americans referred to the natives as savages, and most Jews that I know refer to Palestinians as animals.

Before the establishment of Israel over 600,000 Jews were already living in Palestine on land they bought from Arabs.

You've just described why WW3 is inevitable.
As far as the UN establishing "Israel", it was actually the League of Nations and they had no right to do so. It would be tantamount to establishing an "Israel" in Texas. It was not their land to give away.
