I run but not that much yet my dads a runner and he usually runs 3-6 miles a week. he rests on saturday and on sunday morning he runs a long course i don't remember how long but he runs it in a 10k pace which is pretty fast.

Yes. Just running for as many days a week that I could for as long as I could, and as far as I could. It still didn't train me for the change in altitude!
