Queen size, definitely. We do have a small bedroom that would be dwarfed by a king bed, but more importantly, I've heard that couples who sleep on a king bed don't stay together as well as couples who sleep on a snuggle-promoting queen bed...

I've slept in a queen and king sized bed and they're both fine. Actually it was a California king sized or something it was huge! But if I was buying one for myself I'd probably buy the queen because it's got enough room and does cost less. Plus, I don't know where I'm gonna move when I get married, you know? What if it's a smaller room? You know? You have to think about the future when you make big purchases like this.

After having a king size mattress, I'd say always go with king. usually, you can get it with two twin sized box springs, so moving is easier, and some mattresses even have hinges in them to help with the moving process. Just make sure that your comforter is big enough for your bed, as my wife and I fight for covers sometimes. (I just keep an extra blanket next to my side and let her have the comforter if necessary).
If you have the space, enjoy the luxury of a king!

Had both and love the king! the queen is only about 4 inches wider and longer than a regular double. King is my favorite and I would make it fit in a room somehow!

Money and fit. Although there's more room in the bed, when I have kids they will be sleeping in their OWN beds; having room for them is an open invitation to what I don't want. I see no reason to upsize from a queen unless the people sleeping in it require it (if both need to sleep spread out and not touching each other or something).

It would probably be that the room is too small and it wouldn't fit. But I do prefer a king size bed.

I would buy a King over a Queen if my room has space for it. A king is much larger, and if you have kids, they can sleep in as well without crowding.

The only way my next mattress will not be a King or CA King is if there is not enough room for it, but I doubt that will be a factor.

We would LOVE a king mattress but there's no room in our bedroom, we'd have to knock out the closet to make room. Otherwise it's a one butt-at-a-time room.
