sasmallworld: Will Ferrel? Why is he the same character in EVERY one of his movies? Why does he make the same jokes? Why do people think he's funny?

Sasmallwood: That movie your talking about sounds an awful lot like John Candy's Delirious. A really funny movie.

Probably another case of Hollywood taking an already made movie and "tweaking" it to make it "newish."

LoL... there's a movie coming out w/ Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson. :) she is writing a book w/ a main character..and will ferrell IS that guy. but he can hear her writing the book in his mind, and everything she says comes true, and eventually she wants to kill off her character! hahaha.. it looks funny.
btw...talladega nights was awesome!

For most of us, life is a series of random events that come at us on a day to day basis. We marry and settle into roles of what married people do. We have children and expand what we do to include being a parent as best we know it. We buy a house and do what homeowners do; we fix it up and make it comfortable. Our children go to school, and do what good parents do. We help them learn, and prepare them for when they go off to become on their own. We wake and discover that we no longer have common goals and dreams and desires with our spouse. We change; some of us change a lot. Some of us do not change very much. Our interests become ours alone. All this happens in the span of a lifetime. For most of us, there is no DaVinci Code or a compelling adventure to bring excitement. We are limited by what we can afford. And then life ends. Does this not make us characters in a really boring life?
The monumental events are few and far between. Society imposes demands on us, as do our parents, and our families, and our friends. It appears that we in fact may be characters in a really boring book. The task for us is to find those things that allow us to pursue our interest and grow in ways planned and unexpected.
I love to travel, and that has been rewarding for me. Standing in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome reminds me of the sacrifices that have been made to construct the building by hand. It proves to me that personal sacrifice to the Glory of God is worthwhile. Seeing the wheat fields that Vincent VanGogh painted in Auvers sur Oise fills me with a sense of wonder for what he created on canvas. It is these personal journeys shared and individually that challenge me and create the zest that goes with living.

I would pop out of the pages of the book and urge my writer to make my life interesting.... pretty much like the characters in the Luigi Pirandello classic "Six characters in search of an author"...

I'd petition the writer to make my character more interesting and let me live happily ever after!
Actually, I am a character IN THE BOOK OF LIFE! My ending will be happily ever after! Have you accepted Christ as your personal savior?

Nihilism at it's finest... What would I do though? Convince the reader to track down the writer of my book and have him re-write me. Most everything stays the same. I just want to be rich. And the ability to fly. And... well ok, I'd have him do a major re-write.

If I were a character in a book, there is absolutely no way it could be considered boring.
