Subsidies are just another way to stop a FREE economy. The market should make the prices period. Likewise, minimum wage should be abolished. The market should dictate what people are paid for whatever services they do. Take nursing for example. There is a shortage of nurses. Thats why travel nurses are paid so much. Some make $100 an hour. Market dictates that. Would I work at Mcd's for under $9? Heck no. Open up the markets

When American jobs are outsourced to countries like yours, I don't see you shed any tears for the American out of work or having to accept a lower standard of living. Foriegn investment in your country has provided many good paying jobs. Many times life is not fair, even to Americans. Don't expect Americans to apologize for the hard work our forefathers put into the framework of our government. It may not be perfect, but allows us a fairly free society with choice. It has also resulted in a robust nation that allows it's citizens to enjoy a good standard of living compared to many other countries in the world. You seem to forget we American's as well as our previous generations have worked and fought hard to achieve this!
As for your opinion of our government not giving even more subsidies than we do... money doesn't grow on trees. Don't forget, the US taxpayer (that's us little people) stiil funds all this stuff. What if we asked Indian citizens to help alleviate the financial burden that outsourcing of jobs has cost the US? Your probably laughing your A** off right now! Do you see the absurdity of your question?
FYI, Your attitude and expectations on American aid is wrong. We are a giving country and that is taken for granted now. You seem like a mooch who bites the hand that feeds you. Why don't you ask the UK, Germany, Japan, France or any other first world country this question. Many of those countries are in a better financial position to do so. I guess it's easier to talk sh*t on America with the rest of your "America hatin' friends" than get an independent thought of your own. Oops! Sorry! I forgot, independent thought is an encouraged AMERICAN trait. Ya collectivist sheep!

It is not America, but the IMF and World Bank that insist on such stipulations.

The reasoning is that developing countries have long followed this policy and since the governement machinery is corrupt the money spent doesn't reach the people who are supposed to be benefitted by them.

The true reason I think is to protect western industry. The west wants to have developing countries as biggest consumers of the products of the west. So it is important for them that local agriculture and industry does not improve so that the country becomes dependant on imports.

Why should we provide those subsidies in other countries? Why doesn't the country where the farmers, small business owner live provide these subsidies? If countries do not like how the USA is on trade policy why do they not boycott USA goods and services?

U.S. economy is build on large amount of resources and power of wealth. Its going to callapse because resources will expire faster than technology improvement, because they dont pay enough attention to the basic economy in their country, because they are losing on political arena . Food production and whole sort of small industry is in unhealthy shape there. Liberal attitude to money ends in wrong use of their needed circulation. If wealth people dont support poor society the economy is losing its ability to prosper. Americans have their own problems and their future is not bright. If they were in majority whise economists not a moneymakers then they would honestly ask other countries to co-operate in bulding economy conections giving profits to both. Now government of U.S. seems rather politicaly set to aquire profits from weaponary sale, borrowing money and solwing problems with dengerously needed oil. Greed and wrong understand of economy power and survivalence. Gifts like food donation is not only costfull for U.S. and other countries but also is not a sollution. Countries in needs of support should be aid in becoming selfsufficient and with healthy economy potential.

Two reasons.

One, the Constitution limits Congressional spending "to provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States". It doesn't say anything about paying for other countries.

Two, despite the above limitation, Congress does give billions of dollars to other counties for such subsidies.

A question to NON Americans?

Why you want U.S. to butt out until you want money? Why you want U.S. to mind own business until you need help? Why you sit at computer and write stupid questions about how you hate Americans, then you wonder why we not to want to help you?

Is my English poor enough for you? Maybe you think I am bush, playing game on Yahoo Answers? Maybe you will make a movie about me. Call it- "I no like when mean people pick on my good English?"

or maybe I just go to same school you go, only I get better marks.

Oh, as far as that so called question- call the UN. They're not good for anything else.

Putting aside the question as to how MUCH the USA should give in foreign aid, undoubtedly the Dumbya Coup is wasting as much in THIS budget, no doubt for the benefit of cronies, as they are in the total budget overall. Anyone who doubts this should look at how US citizens in need were NOT helped in the Katrina tragedy.
Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

Question to Indianboy:

This is a perfect example of the idiocy and insanity of the liberal mindset. "You do the work, then give the money to me". It's Marxism. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs". These are the foundations promoted by Lenin and Mao.

Why should MY tax dollars that get taken from MY paycheck go into a Foreigners pocket?

It's a scary world when you consider that nations don't only want free hand outs. They expect it.

Our prevailing needs are at home and our national security not proping up some businesses in other countries...I love capitalism but it was built in America without aid from others so you guys can do the same.
