Are you sure the main computer is connected via a Router or is it an ISP external Modem? The way you are desribing the setup it sounds like the main computer is connected to a modem. If it IS connected via a Router, then all you need is either a Wireless Adapter for each computer you wish to connect to the Router/Wireless Access Point or a CAT5 cable with RJ-45 connectors. If you want Wireless connections like the laptops have then go with the Wireless Adapters which cost around fifty dollars. If you want to Wire them to the Router, is will need the above cable with connectors for each comptuer. The only problem with Wired is running the cables. If that is a problem go with the Wireless Adapters. You will need to run the seput CD on each computer and then install the Adapter when instructed. Don't forget to go into the Routers configuration web page and set up security.

Sounds like your router is blocking all other systems to have access to the internet (assuming you have an ethernet/wireless router - then the above answer may be correct) through it. I'd look at the configuration of your router to ensure there are no such blocks first before you start buying new gear.
Hard to tell what is going on here without a full explaination of what your topology is like. Could be a simple thing as a DNS problem.

well you can either buy a wireless internet connector (which is around $50.) or buy internet cable cord the plugs into the router and your computer. (this way is much cheaper its like $10)

Unless your using XP Pro it's not easy, in XP pro goto your services and enable Internet sharing or IIS, other wise you need to enalbe the internet to be shared through the ethernet card, the ethernet card is set primarily to be a recieve/reply device, you need to set it to broadcast/recieve devide, this can be done through the local area connection properties.
