I had heard that more people go to mosques than to church in England. Also moselms are becoming more politically viable. Does this seem possible?

The answer is, maybe. The problem with this is the chaos that comes with an influx of Islamic fundamentalists. They will move into an area and demand the other religions cede to their own. As you can see from the failed attempt to blow up the jetliners, the problem gets more serious each day.

It is possible. Geography and historically, Europe is the most likely continent to host a Muslim majority. It is surrounded by Muslim states to its Southern and Eastern borders. Which is why Russia is very jittery about giving independence to a breakway Muslim majority providence in the rebelious North Caucasus-Chechnya. Many European nations and Islamic countries have exchanged ideas, shared interwoven histories and at the same hit and run each other for centuries. Which is why the "Clash of Civilizations," if you will has seem more likely to happen in Europe than between the U.S. and Islamic countries.

But the rise of Islamic state in Europe, probably start in Spain. It has happened before. Spain was a part of the Islamic Caliphate ten centuries ago. The entire country except for the northern fringes around the Basque Country and other far northern providences were known as Al Andalus. Spain's Southern region Andulacia still carries the name today. At the time Al Andalus existed, Islam was considered more tolerant than Christianity. Islam was the superpower alongside China, India, Mali, Senegal and many nations who we today call the developing world. Europe was the third world of its day throughout most of the Dark Ages. Europeans lagged behind numerous Islamic nations as well as China in the advances of science, technology and archtecture. It was said, modern day construction work, medical surgeries and mathematics were being performed and carried out in Spain (Al Andalus) while Europe was suffering in squalor and poverty. To avoid a long winded nostagic look at Medieval Spain, Muslims are now discovering, they can become a superpower if the Islamic Ummah is once again unifed under the banner of Islam.

Today however, China and many Islamic nations are realizing that they too have an opportunity to regain their lost status as a superpower once more. It is true, Islam is experiencing a large revival in the former Islamic providence of the Medieval Caliphate of Spain. It is the fastest growing religion throughout Europe, despite the tough restrictions European governments are setting up. Many Europeans are moving away from Christianity toward Atheism. Which has alarmed other Christian neighbors throughout the world who also share the belief that Islam is fanatical and dangerous, etc. But have yet to learn that Islam is also tolerant and hospitable.

It is just a matter of time. And powershifting to be done. If China doesn't succeed in reclaiming its lost status as the Chinese like to say, than Islam will eventually sweep across all of Europe. As the Islamic Caliphate tried to do but collapsed at the zenith power. Also defeated by European forces who had managed to unite under the banner of Christianity! Islam will become a majority religion across Europe, it will just take time and effort. And no it is not an omen or the end of the world so stop the naiive thinking.

England would be the last of the European nations to become Islamic. There are Islamic groups in the Neatherlands that actually wear t-shirts and have a "symbol" of a November date in 2022 which is the year they believe they will reach majority status in that nation. France is over 25% Islamic now which is one reason the government of France is of no help to Israel or the United States at times. Germany has recognized it and of course was ridiculed as racist for wanting to change some immigration laws to protect its heritage; but they likely will fall shortly after France.

And don't forget the US of A....our pretty open border policy here makes it easy and a group of congressman from the industrial mid west recently voted in extreme minority against condeming Hezzbolah.....why....because they have significant Islamic followings in their districts.

Never but the Islamic influence will grow and at a distant time might become dominant, due to increase of people from Commonwealth states. This will turn UK into a sectarian state and here the European influence will play specially the German Protestants

um... no. why do you think that is even a possibility? what do you mean by islamic state? they are not a theocracy, the monarchy are figureheads and the prime minister has to deal with parliament. there really is not a good way to seize power in england, so i find it extremely unlikely...

by the way... you should be careful of repeating what you hear. i do not think it is true that more people go to mosques than church in england. it definitely isn't true that islam is the fastest growing faith:
http://www.bible.ca/islam/islam-myths-fastest-growing.htm

this study is from last year and it says that there will be twice as many mosque goers as church goers by 2040. that's only if church attendance declines by 2/3s... color me unconcerned.

I don't think that will happen at least not by free will or choice.England will not succumb to non Christian doctrine, and I feel fight it to an end.I for one have faith in the English as I have faith in the United States and for the same reason. The people of both country's share the desire for personal freedom and thus do not "herd" as easily as some other country's people.

No. For one ingredient, Britain has a state-sanctioned faith (the Church of england). for yet another, Muslims in uncomplicated words account for type of three% of the entire inhabitants of significant Britain - even as that's more effective than maximum different eu international places, they have nevertheless were given some distance to bypass formerly it truly is "a Muslim us of a". the debate is largely some xenophobic politicians and leaders in Britain making a large deal out of it.
