I think it depends on your weather preference:

Cold winters Hot summers: Chicago or NYC

Mild Winters with Rain: Seattle (it really doesn't rain there as much as everyone says except for in the winter- I lived there for 10 years!)

Sunny Year Round- San Diego (much better quality of life in SD than in LA)

HOT all the time- Phoenix or Las Vegas

Don't mind an ocassional Hurricane: The Gulf States or NC, SC

Best Wishes!

Even though it is very cold in the winters. The best place for a young person or couple to settle down is Mineapolis, Mn. It is a growing area with jobs galore. Many young people move there because of the opportunity. Check it out more.

Malden, Massachusetts is the best place to be on drugs or selling them or whatever. It's a good place to party. There's millions of chicks everywhere and everyone smokes weed.

I've only lived in one city my entire life so I can't be much help but I've linked an article that applies to your question. Also, on the website there's a search engine that allows you to find a city to live in based on your personal criteria.

los angeles, ca

pros:
- lots of job opportunities
- BIG city/area
- THE best nightlife (sunset strip!)
- celebrities ^_^
- awesome shopping (fred segal, kitson, melrose, beverly center)
- duh! it's in california; one of the best states!
- diverse people
- it's metropolitan and suburban
- the dodgers and the lakers, SON!!
- great universities/colleges
- close to san diego
- the beaches
- love the weather!
- great museums
- it's got a koreatown!

cons:
- obviously, the traffic
- and the smog
- stay away from north hollywood and downtown la, well stay away from the notorious, infamous spots
- and i've read somewhere that los angeles has breed 10% of the world's total population of serial killers, probably because there's so many people

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T MOVE TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA; IT BLOWS... HARD.
