im 14 and my mom is kool with it but im not sure what type of lip ring to buy so no infection occurs. There is only 3 weeks of summer vac. left 4 me and i don't wanna go 2 skool with a swolen lip.

if you want to pierce your lip and your parents are cool with it then do it but its your choice not the choice of anyone here....
if you do decide to do it the price will depend on where you get it done, I paid $30 to get my labret pierced and titanium is the best as far as infections go... the swelling can last from about 1 to 2 weeks but isnt really noticeable.... make sure that you clean it everyday with bactine and when you are able to take the jewelery out for cleanings make sure that you clean the jewelery as well...

My friend had hers done a couple months ago, it was only swollen for a few days though you have to take very good care of it with the wash they tell you to get so it doesnt get infected. The type really doesn't seem to matter it's keeping it clean.
At 14 they may not pierce you depending on where you are even with parental permission, some places won't do it till 16 or under 18.

As long as you have no underlying health issues like diabetes, or being prone to keloids, that would prevent healing or unsightly scarring. Also is it really worth it and the trend will be over by the time you finish next year?

Bad place to get a piercing!! How about a "fake" lip ring? Don't do it.
