little expansion on the original question - Printer is large copier/printer/fax (Imagistics) with own static IP address behind router. Router is Linksys WRT54G. Hopefully this will help

Disregard the above posts, that won't help you print from the Internet.

To print from the internet, you're going to need to set the router to forward the port that the printer uses to the printer's internal IP address. You'll need to check the printer's docs to see what port that is as several are commonly used. Most HP printers and Jet Direct print servers use TCP port 9100.

Add Printer
Choose 'Local Printer' (common mistake to choose network printer here)
Choose 'Add New Port'
Choose 'Standard TCP/IP'
Type in IP of printer
Choose proper driver for printer (better if you have the disk for this)
Voila - you're done

use the network setup wizard or
setup a network in the My Network Places
Also make sure the printer is on a network
when that printers on the network, any computers on the
network can use it (by defult, if you want)
