System support is a level 1 function and it is a low paying job, don't expect to ear more than 32 to 35 your first year, you should get into Systems security or learn Cisco routing and switching, with a CCNA cert you can earn around 45, and system security can earn over 55 for the first year.

problem with IT is that a large amount of it is being outsources to India. Although, I have read recently about a huge IT shortage in silicon valley. Who knows. But the head IT guys at companies like google and yahoo make millions.

Dear member,

IT support can be good but it is very saturated. Most of it is cut-throat, if you don't do good you just get shoved aside and replaced. I been doin it 8 years. I'm on my own and it pay my living. You should consider outsourcing yourself like I'm doing. The downside is you have to file your own taxes and expenses like I am.

kind regards,
ben
