What kind of products do you see them carry? How big of a supply do they have? Do you think they should carry supplies for animals that are illegal in the state of California? ( heghogs, ferrets, etc)

Hope to open a pet store in Northren CA. in a few months. And I am wondering if I should bother carrying ferret supplies or not.

All of them in my area carry Ferret Products. I would carry them...many people have them, we just don't know it.

There are also stores where you can buy bongs and roach clips (or there used to be). Generally the equipment for something is not banned by the same law as the something was.

But yes many states ban animals that other states carry. In California I believe it includes sugar gliders, gerbils, piranha, gators, ferrets, wolf and wolf mix, and F1 cats. Heck its getting almost impossible to even get an ugly mix no-paper dog for anything less than $200 due to the spay/neuter program.

All of them, little chew toys mostly. They used to be in an aisle labelled for ferret supplies! Recently, though, the signs have changed to be "other small animal supplies." Yeah, right.

Legalizing ferrets was, I think, one of Arnold's campaign promises (the other was legalizing ape-hangers for motorcycles, which I think he actually did). He hasn't carried through on it yet!

I thought have a Ferret as a pet was illegal in California or does it go from city to city?
