actually, contrary to what's been said, if you do not have regular cycles you can get pregnant at any time, even if you are on your period. I got pregnant mid-way through my period. My period just stopped and 2 weeks later I had a positive pregnancy test.

Unless you are charting your cycles and recording your fertility signs (basal body temperature and condition of cervical mucous) there is no reliable way to know when you are infertile. On average women ovulate 12-16 days before their period comes, but stress, illness and other factors can delay ovulation and you wouldn't know it until your period was late. If you actually KNOW that you've ovulated, you are safe a couple of days later because the egg has a very short life span (most of your fertile time of the month is in the days leading up to ovulation because the sperm have a much longer life span than the egg.) Normally you'd be safe on the first day or two of your period, but you could become fertile again before you stop bleeding because your body is already preparing for the next ovulation. If you cannot afford to have an unplanned pregnancy, use a reliable form of birth control every time you have sex.

Having intercourse even as in your interval can still get you pregnant. The "pull out" system is simplest eleven% strong, which don't seem to be good odds. It's never a excellent inspiration to have intercourse with out security in view that of a pregnancy hazard and STD's. However, so long as neither you nor your partner has HIV you can not contract it. Go to the free wellness hospital and get yourself some condoms or birth manipulate, preferably each. It can be free, and then you definately two can have sex with out ever feeling this kind of fear once more.

There is no such thing as a "safe" period during a woman's cycle. We all ovulate differently at different times. That is a crude misconception that possibly leads to conception!

Not reliable. I thought I knew my body's "safe" period for sex because I had a very regular, predictable cycle. I now have a 3mo. old baby to show for that!!! So if you want to be safe, you better use something other than that method!!!

if you are wanting to know the time to do it without getting pregnant it would be 3-4 days or 5-6 days before your period because that is when your body releases the egg to be fertilized.

the first day of your period is day one, ovulation is roughly on day 14, avoid sex a few days before and after day 14 and you should be fine provided your cycle is regular.
