I have a Motorla V3i flip top phone and want to set it up so that I can kill an incoming call (sending the call to voice mail) without having to flip open the phone and press the red 'end call' key (no problem with a normal phone where you have immediate access to all buttons on the phone). There are two button (in addition to the volume buttons) on the side of the phone - how can one of these be programmed to kill in coming calls?

Just set volume to zero, you'll never know when it's ringing.

It is possible to set your phone so that it doesn't answer automatically when you flip it open. In this case you can then divert the call to voicemail. I think in fact if you press the volume button on the side it terminates the call. I gave up on Motorola's a few years ago as there was always something not quite right with them!

all u do is push 1 of the buttons on the top part of the phone. there is a speaker button on 1 side & the other button is the one u push & it rejects the call. will send call to v/m.
u don't have to program the phone at all, & i really doubt that there's a phone like that where u can program rejection calls.
so take a look at the top of the phone right where the antenna is. there should be 2 other buttons. 1 has a speaker on it, the other button u push & will reject calls to v/m.

I have done some minor experimenting on a Motorola phone and it appears you can only silence the ring so that it just goes to your voice message system without ringing anymore. You can push the volune button to make the ringing stop.
