Oh, Pul-eeez! If you've already go a whole enchilada, you don't have to fight for a piece. But if you don't have any, or only a small piece and you think you deserve more, then you better dig down and work for it.
Women aren't the only ones fighting for their rights. Not sure where you've been living lately, but in case you haven't noticed, Blacks, Hispanics, Chinese (think Falun Gung), Buddhists and others have been wading into some pretty good battles over the past few decades as well.
Gee -- maybe one day men will have to fight for their rights!

Women have to fight to get there rights. Men's rights were handed to them on a silver platter. Women are not as luck. We had to fight for the right to vote, we had to fight for equality and we still are fighting. Men look at a women in the business women and think that they are not capable of doing "a man's job" they think that women don't have what it takes to "get the job done".
Women care enough about having equality that they are willing to fight for it. African American's had to fight for equality, they got it...they still face discrimination but they seem to have stopped fighting. My point is, women still feel that they are not equal, and they are willing to fight until equality is achieved. Maybe when a women becomes President they will stop. But maybe not.

Go back and check your history, my friend. In the '70s, there was a proposed 26th amendment to the Constitution, which would have guaranteed women equal rights in all manner with men. They needed a majority vote in 38 states to have it ratified, but surprisingly enough, when they put the issue on the ballots in all 50 states in 1976, the proposed amendment fell well short of the 38 states needed to ratify the amendment (I believe it only passed in 16 states). Since our population at the time was over 50% female, you would think the amendment would have passed with flying colors. That old watermelon-smashing comedian by the name of Gallagher made an interesting observation on the subject: "Seems like the women realized when they stood up for their rights they lost their seats..."

Others fight for there rights also.
But I think that when you are aware of the fact that you have to fight. I think a lot more people do not fight because they don't know what there rights are.

cause men have a right to do almost anything?
just kidding. actually women are so caught up in the feminist movement we're sending ourselves to be instituted into the draft.
i know that sounds odd, but think of it. if ever the US had to reinstitute the draft (i doubt they will) now women have free choice and rights as well...which means they have responsibilities...the draft would have to include women. if not, if i were male i'd protest

Years of practice.
Seriously, I don't agree with your statement. Women's rights are perhaps more visible then men's are, but I know plenty of men who are willing to stand up and fight for what they believe in.

Because if we didn't fight for our rights we would still be unable to vote or be independent or have a position in the world besides as housewife.

Because in human society, we are the historically oppressed sex! We have to fight for our rights. Does anyone realize that in the animal kingdom, the females are the absolute heart and soul of survival of their species?

Because inconsiderate people (ex. you) don't think they deserve them for one way or another. Also, men have been considered the "dominant" sex since the beginning of time. Some people just think that equal opportunity should be open to everyone, and discrimination and predjudice should not be tolerated. Sexism is, in some cases, just as bad as racism.
