Okay. Present first:

PG - Chauncy Billups
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - LeBron James
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Shaq
Off the bench:
1. Tim Duncan
2. Dirk Nowitzki
3. Dwyane Wade
4. Jason Kidd
5. Shawn Marrion
6. Elton Brand
7. Steve Nash

These are all magnificent players, so the starters had to be decided through a couple of things. 1) How well they would mesh. For instance, it would be silly to play Shaq and TD in tandem, as it would seriously inhibit Duncan's ability to play in the post. Also, playing Kidd or Nash with Shaq Duncan or Brand is fine, but they aren't best suited in terms of styles (uptempo vs half court.)
Finally defence had to play a part in the selection of the starting 5. That's why Garnett was chosen over Nowitzki, leaving the starters without a 3 point specialest. But I figure Kobe and Billups have enough range to make up for that mostly.

Okay, so all time:

PG: Magic Johnson
SG: Michael Jordan
SF: Oscar Robertson
PF: Bill Russell
C: Wilt Chamberlain
Bench:
1: Tim Duncan
2: Shaq
3: Larry Bird
4: Jerry West
5: Walt Fraizer
6: Kareem Abdul Jabbar
7: Isiah Thomas

I'm sure I've left some very deserving folk off, but it had to be done. This time the starters seemed to fall into place nicely as an uptempo team. Having Russell and Wilt defending the rim is just plain scary. Wilt can carry the load of the frontcourt offence by himself, hence his choice to start over Kareem. They both can run as well, which is why they got chosen to pair with Magic over Shaq and Duncan. Most of these guys have been selected for their offence and defence, with the exception of Bird, Thomas and Magic. Bird and Magic are self explanatory, but I feel like I have to defend Thomas. He can play 2 possitions, dish the rock and score like mad, and I wanted someone who could be the second back up at the 1 and the 2. But the main reason I chose him over Tiny Archibald was his level of clutchness. I mean, he was Reggie before Reggie was.

So there it is. Let me know why I'm wrong.

PG: Chris Paul
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Andrei Krilenko
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Dwight Howard (would pick Shaq but he's getting too old...must look ahead for future)

This line up has a good balance of veteran leadership and young talent along with great offensive and defensive talent that should be good for years to come.

Bench:
PG: Chauncey Billups
SG: Dwyane Wade
SF: Lebron James
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Shaq
1: Chris Bosh
2: Shawn Marion
