I'm looking into taking ballroom dancing lessons but I don't have a partner. Should I wait until I find someone willing to go or is it okay to go by myself?

Don't wait, go for it. Go for a group class. There will be plenty of people in the class that came by themselves too. You could be waiting for years. If you're thinking about private lessons, there are two ways - you could find a partner in a group class, or you can train with a male instructor (if you have enough money to afford it).

Serious ballroom people go through stages when they don't have partners. If they like ballroom enough, they don't give up their practices and eventually find someone to dance with. If they decide to sit at home and wait, they become "former" dancers, because noone even knows they are looking for a partner.

In any case, don't wait. It is too much fun, don't postpone it.

It's ok to go by yourself, but it's so much easier to take a partner.

Any lonley guys out there-- Go find a dance class to go to if you want to meet the ladies! There is never enough men to go around and if you become a good dancer you will be swarmed with females!

Have some courage and go by yourself. Bet there'll be others having the same problem, so there'll be someone thankful to find somebody else in the same situation. And why should you always depend on others or wait until they want to do something you want to do too??

i think it is a great idea to go by yourself. Then when you do get a partner you can teach them.
