This online friend of mine (a friend of a friend) exchanged numbers with me recently, i have been chatting to him for about 8 months online...yesterday we were having a text conversation and i said:
"there's no point wasting my time texting you when i will see you online later"
He replied "wasting your time? fine."
I dont know if he is upset because everytime i see him, he starts the conversation with me first on messanger but today he didnt at all.......do you think he was offended in some way? I feel guilty.

This is the only and main reason why I don't like text messages and instand messaging. Since the person can't see you or hear your voice inflections, sometimes it's hard to tell if a person is joking around, or being sarcastic.
I can see how you saying you were "wasting your time" could have hurt his feelings. Because it sounds like you meant you could have been doing something better than texting him.
I think you should call him and tell him you are sorry that you didn't mean the text message that way (unless you did) and tell him you really enjoy talking online with him and text messaging him. If he's a good guy, he'll realize that it was a simple misunderstanding.

You shouldn't feel guilty. Just wait until he talks to you. Just tell him that you weren't trying to be mean and he should understand that you didn't want to waste text messages. First of all he's not your bf so he doesn't have to worry. He just needs to chill and think about it if he's offended.

Guys (at least most) don't stay mad very long. We don't hold grudges and don't say "we are fine" when we aren't. There is nothing wrong with you IMing him first. Besides, the Internet is full of sports and naked chicks, he may have been busy looking at those when you can online.

eh... that happened to me... dont feel guilty you were just saying how you felt. he should get over it. maybe try explaining to him what you meant? or just try talking to him and have a normal conversation. maybe he was just busy and didnt get on that day. but it really depends. maybe he isnt upset at all? its really just hard to tell.

he sounds very sensitive and misunderstood. Tell him you just thought it would better to save money and easier. It sounds like hewants to take your relationship a step further perhaps?
