1 in three is quite an outrageously high number. Can you post your source? I know about 20 close friends, none of whom have been sexually assaulted, that would call your numbers into suspect.
And kids, the reason crime is traditionally higher in the US is most other countries don't report crimes that have not be proven to have occured, whereas in the US they report all reported crimes. But 1 in 3 is BS.

Did you ever stop to consider the fact that America is one of the few places in the world where women can feel free to report rape and assault? In some countries women are cattle and have no rights. The statistics are not accurate because of how much is not told. Women are abused, raped, and tortured all over the world. But the fact is in America it can be reported and punished! Rape is a crime. Rape is a sin against God and humanity and anyone that condones it will face God Almighty himself someday.

"One in six American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape, and 10% of sexual assault victims are men."
I got this from your source. You have to keep your facts straight or at least supported by your chosen source. Im not sure what your goal was for asking this question but in case you haven't been to America, this country might not be the most peaceful country but its not the worst either. Millions of crimes happen every second in the world and yet they were not reported. It looks like the crimes were happening in the USA because of the abundance of media source.

and before we took Saddam out.....1/2 of what Iraq had.....every woman in Iraq had a 2 in 3 chance of being raped by the time they were 30....and of those, half had a chance of dying in the act.....it is a shame of what is happening here....than what was happening there......and I have heard, from Indian women, they are higher than us there......is that true? If so, are you part of the reason?

whats your point? perhaps Americans are not afraid to report the crimes..in some countries the women are terrified to report the crime, because they will be looked down upon as being tarnished and are even killed...if the statistics are higher in America its because the criminal justice/ penal system does not have Strong enough deterrents that some countries have.. they get out of jail.. and do it again..its the criminal justice system that needs to get tougher here.

First of all, did you read that off a poster, or did you conduct a study? Because no one else really has either. Second, even if the statistic were true, don't confuse sexual assault with rape. Not every sexual assault ends in rape. Yes, we've all heard the statistic; and no, it isn't true.

I have a problem believing 1 in every 3 women. but don't doubt that we have the highest rate. We convict, then let free. These criminals should be put down.

Total B. S. If that were true I would know 20 or 30 women that had been assaulted. Where did you come up with that crap?
