I've always had great luck with dawn dishwashing liquid. just put it right on the spot. But if your talking motor oil, i don't know, never used it for that. But dawn is great for a lot of stains and oily spots. good luck. : )

I put baby powder on the stain and let it absorb, but if you've washed them a bunch that might not work. Most pre-treaters on the market these days take out oil stains.

if they have been dryed in the dryer it might not come out.
if it is oil and not grease:
reapply oil in the same place. just a little bit. cover with starch (the kind used for cooking) or powder . you will see the starch/powder soaking up the oil. turn jeans over to knock off the powder/starch and reapply the powder/starch untill no more oil is absorbed. apply dawn dishwashing detergent and wash them as usual. no dryer untill you've checked out how much got out. if there is still an oil spot , put the powder/starch back on it with no oil first. do not put in dryer untill you have gotten out as much as you can.

you can go to your local auto parts store and get products to remove oil stains, if the stain were fresh a good grease cutting dish detergent would do the trick....

if it is motor oil, I don't know, but if it is cooking oil or grease from food....get a piece of chalk and color on both sides if the stain(inside and outside) then wash in warm water....it has worked for me in the past....good luck!
