Let sped of wind = v

So from a to b, plane flies at v+165

From b to a 165-v

Thus 450(1/(165+v) + 1/(165-v)) = 11/2

or 330/(165+v)(165-v) = 11/900

or (165+v)(165-v) = 30*900 = 180 * 150 = (165+15)*(165-15)

Thus v = 15 km/hr

Let the speed of the wind is = x km/hr ....................i
Therefore speed of the plane going in favour of the wind is
=(165 +x) km /hr .......ii
Speed of the plane going against the wind is
=(165 - x )km /hr............iii
Since we know that time = Distance/ speed
Time taken by plane when going in favour of wind
t = 450/ (165 + x) ...........iv
Time taken by plane when going against the wind
T = 450/ (165 - x) ...........v
As per given condition
450/ (165 + x) +450/ (165 - x) = 11/2
450{ 1/(165+x) + 1/(165-x) } =!!/2
450 {165 +x +165 - x }/ (165+x) (165 - x ) = 11/2
(450) (330) / (165+x) (165 - x ) = 11/2
on solving by cross multiplication
(450) (330)(2) = 11{(165+x) (165 - x )
(450)(60) = (165)^2 - x^2)
27000 = 27225 - x^2
x^2 = 225
Taking Squrt both side
x =15 km
Hence the speed of the wind is = 15 km/hr

The correct answer v=15 km/h has already been given which can be cross-checked by computing the time of travel t.
velocity on outward journey=165+15=180 km/h
velocity on inward journey=165-15=150 km/h
t=450/180+450/150=11/2 hours

450/(165+y)+450/(165-y)=11/2
450(165-y)+450(165+y)=11/2(165+y)(165-y)
297000=11(165^2-y^2)
solving the wind speed is 15 kmph
check
450/150+450/180=11/2 checks

t=d/v

t1+t2=11/2 hours
11/2=450/(vp+vw)+450/(vp-vw)

vw= velocity of wind
vp = velocity of plane

we have (skipping a couple of steps)
vw=sqrt(vp^2 - 1800/11vp)
sqrt is square root.
vw=15km/h

which to verify has a trip there of 450/180 = 5/2 hours
back 450/150 = 6/2 hours

total of 11/2 hours.

As I see has already been given above.... I was slow.

Fly by utilising way of twine is a term used to describe countless airplane controls, specially flight controls yet in addition alongside with engine controls that use computers to deliver the indicators out to prompt the guy flight controls. control inputs from the cockpit circulate to a team of desktops and the computers gadget that enter, utilising sophisticated utility and then deliver it out to actuators that do the genuine artwork of moving the controls. In regularly occurring airplane there are cables or some sort of mechanical or mechanical/hydraulic connection from the cockpit to the flight controls or engine controls. In fly with the aid of twine airplane there is not any actual mechanical connection between the flight controls interior the cockpit and those instruments, like flaps rudder elevator and an excellent sort of others, basically wires going to a set of computers and wires popping out of them. that's the place the call comes from. It makes it possible for the flight controls to do issues that generic airplane do no longer do. contained in the Airbus, for occasion, once you shrink the flaps the ailerons will hunch to act as flaps. With a economic enterprise to the right, for representation, maximum suitable the marvelous aileron could circulate up or basically one or 2 of the spoilers in all probability sufficient. A swifter economic enterprise would call for the two ailerons to function and the various spoilers to return back up. the computing gadget will come to a decision in step with what the pilot demands.
