I've been watching football on and off for awhile, but i just recently become really into it. I've known the Italian leagues to be cheats once in awhile, but what is this scandal that is making players leave Juventus and stuff?

In a nutshell: A high executive of Juventus was caught on tape talking with a member of the referee association about hand picking referees so that important games could lean in favor of Juventus. The investigation got involved other teams following the same practice and also teams, like AC Milan, that knew what was going on but did not denounce it. The first sentences were very strict and the teams appealed. The sentences got reduced and Juventus has appealed again, we are waiting for the result of it.

Do not listen to the comments about Juventus. It has been reported many times that this betting scandal has nothing to do with Juventus as a club but it involves some players and the manager for past problems. This betting scandal focuses on Serie B teams and certain matches played. Again i will repeat it has nothing to do with Juventus as an organization. It's more of match fixing and betting on games. Like in any other soccer league it is illegal too bet on games. The match fixing involves clubs such as Siena, Atlanta, Bari, Leece etc.

i think it also had something to do with players supposedly betting on games and stuff...or something like that. i think all the big players are probably leaving because juventus is being relegated...but i don't know for sure.
