To answer this you need to have given more information, since there is a laptop and a desktop unit, the desktop starts it's model number with a SR.

On the laptop there will be a plastic cover that has a screw somewhere on it and it will be about 2 3/4" wide, it primarily will be in front, but Compaq has been known to put them on the side.
After removing the screw, the plastic cover will either come off, flip out of the way or will not appear to do anything, there will be an indication to pull it or something else out and there you will have the harddrive in hand.

If the unit is the desktop and you don't know how to remove the hard drive you should be able to figure that one out on your own.

open the case remove all the screws around the hard drive unplug the wires and it should come strate out and if your going to use it as a second HD in another compuer pull the thing out of the master slot (on the HD) and put it in the slave spot or it will conflict
