lets get this straight first... I am most definitely not confused, but those who are most likely relate it to how the Mexican population speaks Spanish fluently. I myself have blond hair, green eyes, and olive skin (if you call it), and yet I have heritage in Spain. it just goes to show you that not everything is about appearances, and mistakes (for instance being politically incorrect) happen often even without notice or purpose, and yet these misinterpreted mishaps often and read into and can bring out the worst in people. I don't get offended when no one notices that I have native American or Spanish ancestry, but I am sorry that people get you mixed up. It will probably happen all of your life, but just glide with it, laugh it off, and remember that we all live in the same world.

I think that you have the wrong impression...I don't assume that Spanish people come from centro-America that's crazy....and offensive i take it that allot of people may ask you that and you are tired of it... I also know that some people from Spain speaks Portuguese....I'm not confused maybe you should take the time and explain to them. Or let them get to know you a little more and teach them the difference...

I get told that I don't look Spanish all the time and my family is originally from Spain. I guess people are just used to seeing Mexicans and Puerto Ricans and think all Hispanic people should look that way.

We know Spain is in Europe. We know that you speak Spanish.
When we say Spanish people, we are referring to nyone who speaks Spanish. Last I checked 80% of them or so are in Central and South America..
