when my niece was two (she's now 3 so it wasn't that long ago), she loved to color and pretend to do my hair and makeup. she still does but is more active with writing letters and things. you can watch her favorite show, dora the explorer is popular. the parents should give you tips on what they like. singing songs with them, the alphabet, or add something new and clap your hands, anything that gets them active. try counting with them and asking her "what color is this". i would also ask the parents about time out or what they do if the child acts up, just in case.

My nieces and nephews all loved to draw. You can read them a story, but their attention span is very short so the story must be short too. You can ask them questions about themselves. They will be very happy talking about what they did today. You can watch a video with them, but making something crafty might be more fun. My nephews loved to play with toy cars and trucks at that age. My nieces always had dolls and such. You should take the time to play with them! Kids love to sing and they won't care if you are off-key. You should become reacquainted with a few nursery rhymes.

I think you'll have a fun time. Two is a fun age. At least they can talk to you!

Good luck!

You can sing songs, watch her favorite movies, introduce new things to her in an apporiate way, let her help out with the baby, let her hand you the babies diaper or play gently with the baby. Be her guide to a good future and teach her little things like talking :P It could be fun

Making up stories that are fun and can entertain them, watching tv, play hide and go seek with the two year old and keep the baby with you while you are playing.

i have a 2 year old and a three month old and this is what we do.
painting! monitered of course,
playdoh
drawing
videos
make cookies
play with a ball,
sing songs
read books (animal books are a hit)
make icecream sundaes (little ones)
or fruit salad( they put the peices in a bowl and ask what fruit is it)
or just general with the toys, their easy going, but having someone new to play with can make all the difference, it puts a different perspective there. when mum plays, this is what she does, and of course you'd do it differently
hope that helps

You could read to her . There are also coloring books that will keep them occupied. You could get some building bocks. All children like those. You could put on a a child channel for them to watch. Good luck and God bless. /sounds like you are avery responsible baby sitter. If you didn't care you would not be asking for advice.

You can always let the child color, read a book, and watch tv. You may want to get some puzzles to do. Or find something the child really like that is sitting down so you watch both of them.

spinning around and around until you fall down but make sure there is nothing that can hurt the two year old or you. once you are dizzy you both lay flat on your backs and watch the ceiling stop spinning.
you can read to her and make different voices for the characters and use puppets. there is always finger paints. movies are great but two year olds need to be active - they are very active. a movie is good for when it's time to wind down for naps and bed.

sing songs, any kids song (abc's, old mcdonald, itsy bitsy spider, ect.)

puppets, babies and toddlers love puppets, you could let the 2 year old help make a sock puppet and then you can play with them.

read books with them, little kids love to be read to, and it's great for babies development.

here is a good link for activities
