But that's not you, but a different persona.

Playing such a game, where participation is not compulsory, is a tacit acceptance that stealing is part of the game, hence there's no legitimate greivance. It might be a sin despite that, but I would not be concerned with it, especially since it's hard to envision the sense in punishing a person to eternal damnation for stealing in situations where such acts are arguably appropriate, and no tangible loss exists. It is not as if you are stealing someone's laptop in real life.

I'm assuming you mean the character you would be playing would be a thief. If you are concerned with the morals of playing a thief, perhaps there are few games you would be comfortable with. Many games involve killing, which is much worse than theft. This would be a decision for only you to make as to what you feel comfortable with.

If you mean you are stealing, not your character, then it is wrong.

No, because you are actually stealing an object made of pixels on your computer screen and you already own that. Same goes for murdering people in games. They are only pixels on your computer screen. They can't be killed because they aren't alive. LOL

If it's within the rules of the game to be a thief, by all means go ahead. I'm a thief in Oblivion, and in D&D, it's my favorite class. :D

i don't think it i a sin as long as you don't start stealing real things because of the influence the game has had on your morals. don't let the game become reality basically.
