if you can play another racquet sport, badminton, tennis or squash to a good standard then you can make it in TT. Your allround agility will be a asset. All the club want to do is check that you are not completely useless, they don't expect a star player yet!

The main difference in TT is the amount of spin which is put on the ball. Borrow an old table tennis bat which reacts very little to spin so that the spin your opponent puts on the ball will have less effect.

Get accustomed to the ball coming straight for your body, when it does this play a backhand stroke. You can try this yourself with a dining table pushed up against a wall in your home.

To get used to the bat and ball, dont use a table, just stand and hit the ball in the air, swapping from forehand to backhand sides. Tricks will help- try to hit the ball with the edge of the bat, uner your leg, let the ball bounce once or not, etc. All this helps to learn the bounce characteristics of a bat and ball. The main mistake that people make is to hit the ball too hard, off the end of the table.

Good luck

Most people rated over 2000 are considered to be a master. These people usually take at least 2 to 3 years to make it to that level. And that is if you play everyday for 3 hours with someone that is already a master.

Why not? Shall I recommend you the best effective way. Very easy you just find a Cheap and compact table tennis robot machine and you practice seriously with this machine about 5 - 8 hour a day. Trust me Just 2 week you must pass the selection of course.

Unless you are Forrest Gump, I don't see this happening. But maybe your definition of "master" is a bit looser than mine. If you are just asking if you can learn to play then yes, after 2 weeks, you should be an OK player.
