-Homecoming is coming up and our Student Council is trying to think of a good broad theme for the week that will be easy to decorate to and kind of base dress up days on. Any Ideas?
-We thought of Traveling around the World.. but we need dress up day Ideas.. Like Toga! Anything else?
-And for the Traveling around the World, we thought of like Hispanic/Mexico but about half of our school's student population is Hispanic, so do you think they would go for that, or find it racist?

I think the Hispanic/Mexican theme would be a good idea. I think the Hispanic/Mexican students would like it. It would give them an opportunity to express their heritage. I think it would be really cool if you did your "Around the World" theme and encouraged students to dress up according to their heritage. You're sure to have a huge mixture of cool costumes.

How about a Hollywood Nights theme with a red carpet entrance, etc. Your dress up days can be "Famous Characters/Couples Throughout History" (real or fictional) and each day can represent a different decade. You can dress up as literary or cinematic, or television characters. Hope you have fun no matter what you choose!

You can have a history re-enactment! The Mexicans are the Aztecs, everybody else is a conquistador and the Spanish rape and pillage the Aztecians until they crown the King-Conqueror and Slave Girl-Queen and then the tables get turned and the Aztecians revolt against their oppressors and the Conquistadors who do not escape are thrown on a stone altar (Cafeteria tables can be substituted) and have their hearts cut out and thrown in fire to the Serpent God Quetzalcoatl. Believe me, no one will forget that!

Hmm...70's theme, for Traveling around the world, I think it would be awesome if everyone wears a different costume from their culture.=)

How about like a hollywood scene, make the big hollywood sign and everyone can dress up like their fav stars.
