Mike Wallis is supposedly known for his hard nose journalism, so why was he not asking any relevant questions of the Iranian prez? Was he scared? Was it some kind of left-wing ploy? It was like watching a Democratic convention. They talked some smack about W, had a couple of laughs. It was disgusting.

Mike Wallace is one of the longest-standing fixtures in the mainstream liberal media. It was like watching a Democratic convention for a reason -- the purpose of the interview was to bash Bush and all conservatives in a blatant attempt to make the Democrats look better for the upcoming elections. Nothing more. The only time Mike Wallace practices hard-nosed journalism is when he is trying to spin (READ: TWIST AND CONTORT) facts to further the liberal agenda.

Not that I'm an apologist for Mike Wallace or any other "major league" newscaster, but he was in Iran and working through an interpreter. Do you really think he was going to get any "hardball" questions through to the guy?

It was the same thing with Dan Rather when he interviewed Saddam.

And it's similar here, too. Nobody wants to really grill the president (or any politician, or even any major pro athlete) for fear of getting blacklisted and losing that rare access.

Wallace asked him hardball questions like the Iranian president's stating in public that Israel should be wiped off of the face of the earth. A good interviewer sometimes needs to throw a couple of puff-ball questions in order to get the confidence of the interviewee. I thought Wallace asked a number of provocative questions. Did we watch different interviews of the same people?

Wow, paranoid much?

Oh, and by the way, just so you don't come across as a *total* idiot next time, remember it's "Wallace," not "Wallis." But thanks for the chuckle.
