Go ahead, listen to the sappy, sad love songs that make you cry your head off. You need to get it out of your system. Then after a week of that go for the stuff that makes you feel strong. I liked "Headstrong" by Trapt, "Back in Black" by AC/DC, "Sin Wagon" by Dixie Chicks, you get the picture....

The best songs are upbeat you don't want to remind yourself of the breakup, definitely avoid anything that directly reminds you of your ex, avoid ALL country music, it will depress you more. Go for the nontraditional.
