No,
People expect too much from these guys. THey are not exciting they are nocturnal, they do not smell at all though.

They must have specific tank conditions all the time and very specific things and are easily killed from over handling mistreatment, being disurbed during molts etc etc.

They are not a pet pet, you do not tank them out and play with them, they are wild exotic crustaceans that require a lot of specific things that a novice should not attempt because 9 times out of 10 they die fast.

They are not a childs toy nor a disposable pet. Ours are over 15 years with us now but that ius due to dedication and hard work and 15 years+ or researching everything about them.

Yes. They are relatively easy to take care of and don't require a ton of attention, like dogs or cats.

Fish aren't usually very good because you have to clean their water often--most kids aren't too excited about dumping a bowl full of nasty smelling fish poo down the drain and cleaning it. I know I wasn't!

They're extremely boring and so low on maintenance that yer bound to forget they're there and eventually, they'll crumble and die. Better get an aquarium. At least the fish f*ckin MOVE.
