I think a lot of the people answering your question negatively dont know what they are talking about. Qualified life coaches are TRAINED to motivate you and yes, sometimes highlight things you already know but didnt 'think' were important or didnt want to face up to. They can also offer a different perspective / insight that is likely to be different from a friend or someone who knows you who often have vested interests / bias and who you would censor some info. Im a psychologist and a life coach and am very well paid but i do this job because i get a buzz out of seeing people achieve beyond what they thought possible. Sometimes in life we 'think' we know whats best for us or how to think effectively but each and every one of us can be more effective in how we deal with things sometimes or the decisions we make, its just we dont often see it in ourselves untils its created a problem or even then we might not recognise it. Who among us hasnt at one time or another continued making the same mistakes again and again, knowing it to be unsucessful but unsure how to move past it? Thats where your life coach comes into it. Good luck and i suggest you look up Anthony Robbins and read some of his stuff, he the ultimate life coach and truely inspirational.

Coaching isn't for everyone and it might not be for you. The fact that you are undecided makes me feel that you need to try, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Many coaches offer free sessions and it is worth trying a few before deciding for yourself.

Make sure the coach you try is properly trained, I recommend contacting the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) www.thecoaches.com.

I was coached and was so impressed that both my wife and I trained as a coaches with the CTI. What I got from Coaching changed my life and it might do the same for you, but until you give it a try, you will never know.

Give a coach a call and ask for a free sample session. Then you can decide for yourself if there's value to you. If you have big plans for yourself it can help cut some of the clutter that slows you down.

While there are many hacks running around, there are excellent training and credentialing programs that provide proven techniques to help people be their best faster.

Corporate America regularly hires coaches for employees they want to fast track into management positions. Many coaches came from a therapy background and decided they'd rather help people move forward than dwell on the past.

Ignorance is bliss. Awareness of your mission can be frightening AND exciting.

Don't take offense, but I think the notion of a life coach simply underscores what the world has come to these days. I'm sorry, but shouldn't an adult be able to handle their own life without paying someone to guide them. It's not like therapy with someone who is educated and licensed. This is a perfectly ordinary person with no more authority or common sense than anyone else. It's tantamount to calling up your personal shopper (another absurdity) and asking them to fix your life.

What exactly to you want to achieve. Life is lived and so what will coach tell you. The thing I have found works is to go to experts in various fields to get guidance....there is no-one who knows all about life except Our Creator...He Is the only worthwhile life coach.
