Why would you care if you have the ability and believe God gave it to you.

Sara B's answer was WONDERFUL!

Please read what the Bible says about that. Leviticus 19:26-28. The Bible is the final authority and God's word is absolute on people that are soothsayers, observers of times. It will always be an abomination to God.

Also, read Acts 16: 16-18. Paul, God's servant, rebuked a woman that had the spirit of divination and soothesaying... Why? because she was trying to attach herself to God's servant and His people (Christians) and if she gained credibility with the Christians then she would gain a new audience of followers as well as becoming an enabler.

Find an extensive Strong's Concordence (Bible reference) and look up every scripture that deals with divineers, enhanters, soothsayers, observers of time. These people were destroyed in the days of Isreal, and will be destroyed when Jesus Christ returns. Beware of "gifts"... not all gifts are given by Him. If you profess to be a Christian... do not mix the darkness with the Light.

Flee from this practice... it is NOT from God.

Dabbling in the occult and seeking power for yourself is not condoned in the bible. However, spiritual healing and prophesy from a connection with God, are gifts that he gives us to do his work on this earth. Make sure you pray about it, God knows your intentions. Be prepared to accept it if the answer is "no, you shouldn't".

Many Christians are afraid of these things because they can become evil if you claim the power for yourself, it is easy for the enemy to seduce someone seeking power. If you give all credit to God, do his work with humility and do what he calls you to do with the gifts that he gives you, then you should do his work without worrying about judgement. If you are looking elsewhere for answers and not looking to God, then "your psychic abilities" could be detramental to your relationship with God. The practices of the occult do work, but they are a work of the enemy. He uses them to distract us from the truth and the light that is Jesus Christ. Rely on him and all your questions will be answered.

The best thing is to pray and humble yourself for the answer. Sometimes it takes years for God to lead you to the right direction in this matter because he wants to prepare you spiritually before he prepares you to do his work.

God bless you.

Psychic ability is a supernatural gift, given for a reason from your Creator ... of couse Christians will say it's "wrong." But they will believe Pat Robertson's claim God spoke to him and let him leg lift 2000 lbs. (Go figure.)

I don't believe in psychic abilities, but as far as I know, Christianity is against it.

I like the answer that if god gave you that ability why not develop it.

But I bet you would have an intersting talk with your priest/minister about it. Why not ask?
