I would say it is a mental defense system to disguise fear of the unknown. For example I hate flying which there is nothing really wrong with flying I just hate not being in control of my movement.

Reason,no. Excuse, yes, as it justifies certain behaviors. Usually ones we do with out questioning why we are doing them, following the pack, heard it at home, those things we hear and do and never take the time to work on the issue of why we hate. Rejection, hurt feelings can make a person have a strong feeling,it's up to them if the want to go to hate or do some issue work and gain some acceptance.

Hate is a human emotion and is very primitive. Is there a reason to hate? I would say NO, no reason at all. If there was a race of intelligent beings, reasoning and understanding would replace hate.

anger is the srongest of our emotions ,hate fuels the anger, hate is the catalyst that sets the human race apart from other animals
it has never been proved that any other animal hates, you can anger an animal to attack, but man will attack because of hate.or his percieved notion of hate. regards LF

There's a reason for everything.

Maybe what you meant to ask was, "Is hate ever justified?"

That one's more of a judgment call. But I would say yes.

It may sound paradoxical (heh), but hate is a subset of love.

Is there a reason for love?
