How do I reduce the risk of messing up my eyes when on the computer? Im usually on the computer for a few hours everyday. Im scared that Im messing up my vision more then it is now (I wear glasses). Also, I would occasionally get headaches for being on so long? Any solitions?

Dont say "stay off of the computer".

Here is something specific that helps give your eyes a break for staring up close at your monitor. It helps with eye strain/fatigue:

Every 30 minutes to 1 hour, look at something in the room that is 20 feet away or further. Do this just for about five seconds.

Also, take 5-min. breaks from the computer after every 1.5 hours to walk around and reduce eye fatigue. Walk around a bit. This also gives your back and wrists a break, and reduces the chance of getting carpal tunnel syndrome.

I got an astigmatism because I was on the computer too long. Make your screen less bright, and open a lot of windows, and turn on as many lights as you can, and don't use the computer for more than an hour if it's dark and you have no source of light.

go to your doctor and tell him whats going on your glasses prescription might need to be changed when was the last time you had an exam and the headaches are called ophtomalgic migraines

only do about half an hour at a time, take a break, then come back to it later, to give your eyes a break. it's best not to do too much a day.
