Some things resonate with the Pub-lick. Some things are latched onto by the media. Some things achieve both, and therefore you have Friends, MASH, All in the Family, Happy Days, Seinfeld, etc., etc.

Because there was someone that every type of person could relate to. And because they talked about things in ways no one ever did before, like Monica teaching Chandler how to make his girlfriend orgasam. The chemisty was awsome between the whole cast, and no one got money hungry!

Because it did what good sitcoms are supposed to do: it was FUNNY! And it continues to be funny in the reruns.
That's the way it should be with comedy, it should make you laugh. Drama should make you think, cry, etc. But comedy is comedy is comedy. And friends provided us with good comedy.
Why be so serious and interpretative about it? Comedy is something that we seek when we need to relax our minds of our daily worries and anguishes. Comedy is not supposed to be serious or political or even to teach us something. Yes, it's at times mindless and stupid. But that's what MAKES IT FUNNY!
Common people! Lighten up, will ya! LOL

Was hilarous and funny, the individual characters all added their little "element" to the show. Also alot of the problems they encountered were everyday things we could relate too

Because a lot of people could relate to it, ie: Ross's divorces, Monica & Chandler falling in love, Phoebe's eccentricity, Joey's acting, Rachel's spoiled-ness, etc.
It made people laugh .... and I dont know, it was just really good, okay....

I don't know ... it just really sucked ... and it tried to copy Seinfeld's success, by having a bunch of friends that are close and live in New York.
So it was not the first of its kind ....

Becuase people are stupid. That is one of the most insultingly mindless, unfunny shows I have ever seen.
