The uniqueness of Indian culture lies in its geographical diversities, natural wealth, vast population and people's attitude among other things. There are few countries, which have extreme climatic conditions like India has. When people in the northern parts of country would be shivering with chilling cold one can find people in the south bare feet.

The uniqueness of Indian culture is its composite and pluralistic nature. In no other part of the world has religious and cultural plurality co-existed and cross-fertilized each other so creatively. While Christians fought their denominational wars in the western hemisphere, Indian Christianity remained free from confessional conflicts and sectarian tensions. Shi'as and Sunnis in India do not kill each other as their counterparts do in our neighbourhood. Sikhism and Sufi mysticism witness the synergy of Hinduism and Islam. These, are the authentic signs of the vitality and creativity of Indian culture. Togetherness is the essential character of our way of life. It is this spirit of togetherness that welcomes and blends diverse elements that seem disparate outside of that framework. This mytho-spiritual character of the Indian ethos has never failed to mystify western observers. India is a spiritual-cultural unity-in-diversity that can host the different and the contrary.

People of India are as diverse as it can get. In the vast stretches of the country side one will not have to travel more than twenty five miles to meet with the people of different social up bringing, different occupation, different life style with different tongues and opinion of the world. Sometimes one wonders how these people are so well knit together when they hardly share physical or spiritual aspects of culture with one another. It's very difficult to answer this question but perhaps the rockiest bond between these people is the nationality. The sense of belonging to one nation, the shared history, the common legacy, the common national movement and more than any thing else, the cohabitation for ages has kept them under oneness, the Indianness.

India is unified by its diversity. Although that might sound a little too contradictory, the uniqueness of Indian culture lies in the underlying harmony on the face of apparent multiplicity of language, literature, music, visual arts and religion. All these small beliefs and practices coalesce together to form a composite culture.

Uniqueness Of Indian Culture

I read some of the answers and found that these western people do not know a thing about any culture except their's which is nothing compared to INDIAN CULTURE. Remeber the caste system may have come now in a bad light but it was created to divide work among people. The Brahmins did not rule and said that they were supreme. They were merely preists and were required to perform relegious activities. The kshatriya and rajputs were the ruling and the warior class. The vaishyas were the traders and craftsmen. The shudras were labourers. Indians taught the world how to count. They were a refined civilization when the whole of europe was roaming around naked in forests hunting animals. The Indian culture is as old as the race of man. It's study can heal a person spiritualy and mentally. The culture is incomparable and those who think otherwise are too narrowminded. They have no sense of beauty.

The uniqueness is that Indian people is that there parents CONTROL there entire life who talk to, what wear, what to say, what to do, what school and college go to, who to marry, what gender baby have be, what the name your child has be, and everything of your child life too. All they care about is there popularity, honor, and reputation.

The other uniqueness is that they are really smelly like sweaty fishy curry. They don't floss or use mouthwash. They don't shower or use deodorant.

And there country is poor and it just full of waste, garbage, and poop.

I don't know about India's religions but once I watch a show in which the different "gods" of an indian religion were something like:

God of dancing
God of beauty...

I like that, it means that it is, or was a religion that born in India that care about everything that sorrounds a human.

Someday I will travel to India...

Harmony with Nature. Respect for all living things, both seen and unseen. The land was not seen as "Wild" rather it was the bounty from God. Families were close and had extended families. They were concerned for the good of all, not just a few.
That's just basic ... it goes a lot deeper.

The divisive caste system wherein a parasitical privileged few (Brahmins and the like) managed to suppress the underprivileged and deny them basic human dignity and opportunity for 3000+ years. The Brahmins practise Aryan Supremacy much before Hitler ever came on the scene.
