You will know that you have an STD because you have symptoms (painful urination, itching, redness, swelling, open painless ulcers on the penis, white/ yellow-white/ greenish-yellow discharge) or because your partner is diagnosed with one.
However, not all STDs intially present with syptoms. Most, but not all. The symptoms you would experience vary according to the disease.

symptoms dont always show up. you have to get tested to be certain. its a risky thing to sleep with somebody without being tested.
