When i turn on my A.C. most of the time its start to blow cold. Then after a while it blows warm. The time varies from when it goes from cold to warm, If I stop and let it sit for 15-30 minutes it blows cold again. It was suggested there may be a temperature swith of some kind that may be defective.

The temperature switch located in the condenser. Depending in the model, sometimes it is required to remove the condenser to access the switch.

You would have an interior cabin thermostat that may have a problem. I would be more inclined to think it's an issue with the compressor or the level of freon in the system. First locate your compressor. Next have someone start your car with the A/C off. After the car is started and warmed up open the hood and direct the person in the car to turn the A/C on full . Stand at the front of your car and listen for the compressor to cycle on when the A/C is turned on. If the doors to the car remains open the A/C shouldn't shut down because it will never get cold enough in the car. If you hear the A/C compressor cycle on and off then you can be sure your just low on freon. If it stays running and blowing cold with the doors wide open and the compressor remaining engaged than you have a faulty thermostat. I'm willing to bet it's the freon level because of the age of your car. Most auto parts stores have the equipment to fix this yourself. They may even be able to help you with the thermostat if that's the problem.

your system uses an expansion valve. this valve controls the amount of freon that goes into your evaporator so you get cold air. its probably going bad but this isnt something a user could fix. take it to a reputable ac mechanic and have him diagnose the freon level in the ac system and if its full thats what i would look at next
