I can get onto the internet if i get into microsoft word or if i hit the start key and run. this thing pops up that says iexplor error then it says a bunch of numbers could not be read I got a hold of my internet provider and worked with them and they said there wasn't connection problem that it has to be with my hardware or software. I really don't know much about computers so please keep it simple.

Ok, listen...unplug your modem, unplug your router...open up the 'Network Connections' page from the control panel...wait one minute. Plug the router back in and wait till all (four) of the little lights come back on...plug in the modem...you will see the status change on the 'Network Connections page. If you need to, you can right-click on the network or internet connections and hit repair, but it will probably fix itself after you plug everything back in.

Right-click the icon. Select Properties.
It should list the source of the .exe (execution) file which is used to launch a program.

For example: right-clicking on my internet icon shows --

c:program files\internet explorer\explore.exe

If yours is not correct,
click Start
click Programs
look for the Internet Explorer icon
right-click it and select create shortcut
if the new shortcut stays on the list of programs, drag it to the desktop (or cut and paste it)

just go to the regular internet explorer because your service is experiencing a problem. or you could try shutting down your computer for 30 mins and start. or restart your comp.

click on explorer, when it opens goto the top of the page and click on tools/internet options/connections near the top shoud be setup run that
