I have and I loved them until "Merrick", the book when she melts the vampires with a Mayfair witch. It just made me very much upset with her because I felt that my favourite character (Louis de Pointe du Lac) was just... doing nonsense. It was very off-character.
But I've loved them, starting with Interview with the Vampire and until Blood and Gold. All of them are amazing... but sometimes she repeats the same story over and over (vampire is turned into vampire against his will, falls in love, looses love, finds it, falls in love, looses it...) and that's a bit boring. On the other hand she always brings new information and historical background that makes it interesting and different.

The Vampire chronicles are great. It's been many yrs since I read them though, I am an Anne Rice fan. She is a great writer. If you have not read them, and enjoy gothic lore and vampires, then do yourself a favor. Read them.

Read them from cover to cover in one swoop when I was younger ( I was around when they first came out and have signed first editions and audio books.) I was Goth before Goth was cool!
At that time in my life I found them captivating as I did the whole vampire thing. Now that I know what vampires actually are in society, in interactions between people...
Not so much anymore.
Smart vampires know the truth and the whole costume aspect of it is just for antimidation, drama and show... The truth is much darker and deeper than people let on...

I've read most of them, and liked them all, but my favorite was "Memnoch the Devil" because I was fascinated by Anne Rice's take on how God created the Earth and watched it evolve. That's a book I could read over and over, if there weren't so darn many other books I want to read!

I have read them and i will nto read them again. She jumps around in the story too much. One munite she will be atlking about a doorway the next sentance she will be on to talking about the main character. i have found this trend in all her books.

The first one was entertaining, if pointless. Then they became potboilers, trying to be dark, mysterious, and sexy, but ending up sleazy and cheap.
