Moms, how would you respond if you found pornography in your son's room?

gosh I won't freak out but talk to him about it, even before the incident, tell him about the human body and explain all the nudie magazines, why are they appropriate or not, plus expose him to art and science so he will see nudes with artistic and scientific incline, perhaps understanding that there is no shame with the body itself, however these nudie publications are not appropiate for children.

well..it appears by some of these answers that people just don't care these days. I'm 20 and just married and my husband and I always talk about what we'll do if we have these situations. If you are religious...show him in the Bible where it is a sin to see porn. Also..maybe (without telling the details) suggest to your youthpastor to talk about the topic with the teens. It will make your son feel guilty. Have either your husband..or it would be better to have a younger guy like 23 or so to talk with your son telling him that he wouldn't want his future wife seeing other guys besides him and that he should respect his future wife and all woman in general as well.

1. I would tell him I found it and talk openly about how I feel it is wrong and I would appreciate him not to keep it in the house, and that it is against the Lord.

2. Pretend I never saw it- Let him make his own decisions. Maybe kinda hint around about it like make something up that would make him feel guilty. I wouldn't want to embarrass him because I love him but I would want him to choose to do the right thing- maybe even bringing up what the bible says about it. Thats a tough question= I'd really have to seek the Lord on that one.

It wouldn't hurt to tell him you found it, that you are disappointed that he has it (depending on your own views and beliefs) and show him that you are throwing it away. I would also explain to him that you understand his curiosity but porn just is a bad way of exploring sex. I agree with another poster, it is better than a real girl but the girls in the magazines are being viewed as objects and not real people.

depends on how old my son is 13 and have cought him looking at pornography to i couldnt believe it but dont overreact. it not the end of the world. my son wont talk to me about any of this stuff he goes to his 17 yr old sister boys get embarresed of us moms try letting dad talk to him.good luck

age is important in this situation. Also is it man woman porno,male male porno??? It as least shows they are nornal to want to see these things..If it is a healthy interest..I would talk to them (Him or Her) and ask what it is they want to know/see and their reasoning... No way would I scream or yell or belittle..justm find out where your child is coming from.. Explain to them when they get older as long as they don't become addicted it should be ok...

Guys like porn. If it was just nudity and not disgusting I would consider it something that guys are interested in. If it contained filth I would tell him to get rid of it.

Get rid of it and say nothing. If he was there when I found it, I would say nothing and take it and throw it in the trash where he would see what I think of it.
